Rodeo (The Courting at Burnt Ranch)
With its world famous score by Aaron Copland, Rodeo (pronounced Ro-day-oh) is Agnes de Mille’s most beloved ballet. A touching story of a misfit tomboy who doesn’t quite fit into her community, but still in search of love. The ballet is both robust and tender, and received 22 curtain calls after de Mille danced the leading role on opening night in 1942. Rodeo is an optimistic celebration of the American character.
