Learn from Dr. Steve Slater, HWI Conservation Science Director, on how we discovered declines in Golden Eagles and what projects we have undertaken to be a part of the solution. 

This year marks our 35th anniversary, which means that we have been gathering migration data for 35 years in the American west! One of the benefits of collecting data over a long period of time is being able to detect population trends more accurately. Long-term monitoring allows us to identify species declines, and as a result, start conservation projects to better understand the threats species are facing.
