Strength Through Simplification with Kathryn Stats

This is a 3 day studio workshop, designed for intermediate to advanced students who have had some experience working with oil paint, who are looking to take their work to the next level. Focus will be on designing the large patterns in terms of value (dark to light) Developing these shapes into color and keeping the color true to the value they represent. By limiting number of values, form takes the lead over minutiae; thus, strengthening the impact of the work. Students will need to bring their own photos and references. Some photo references will be available for students to choose from if needed.

Easels and chairs will be provided. Supply list provided upon sign up.
