Subidora

Miriam Padilla has been honored to receive the Salt Lake Arts Council Career Empowerment Grant for 2023. She will be using six months to learn how to be a lead drummer in bomba and will highlight her new skills for the first time at this event titled “Subidora”. Her mentor and teacher Rafael Maya will be a guest artists all the way from Puerto Rico. Local Bomba Marilé will also be guest artists to support Miriam in her development and growth. The event will be free and open to the public thanks to the support of the National Endowment for the Arts, Sorenson Unity Center, and the Salt Lake City Arts Council. Please join us, dance with us, and sing with us as we keep sharing the traditions and culture of our beloved Puerto Rico.

Miriam Padilla ha tenido el honor de recibir la Beca de Empoderamiento Profesional del Salt Lake Arts Council para el 2023. Usará seis meses para aprender a ser subidora en bomba y destacará sus nuevas habilidades por primera vez en este evento titulado “Subidora”. Su mentor y maestro Rafael Maya será artista invitado desde Puerto Rico. Locales Bomba Marilé también serán artistas invitados para apoyar a Miriam en su desarrollo y crecimiento. El evento será gratuito y estará abierto al público gracias al apoyo del National Endowment for the Arts, Sorenson Unity Center y Salt Lake City Arts Council.
