The Alapa Family have been singing and performing together since the parents got married in 1995. Their heritage derives from Hawaiian, Tongan, Samoan, Chinese, and Portuguese descent. They have loved being able to grow up performing with one another, especially as a family.
The Kulturang Pilipino Ensemble of Utah is a group of volunteers from different sectors in the community, joined together with the common interest of showcasing a kaleidoscope of Philippine culture and traditions. From the Cordillera mountain province of Northern Luzon, the native and tribal dance of Islamic Mindanao, the Spanish influenced dances and from the traditional rural Christian lowland dances in expression of the Filipino way of life.
