The Sound of Music

Alpine Community Theater (ACT) is proud to present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music, “one of the world’s most beloved musicals!” The show features classic songs such as Climb Every Mountain, Sixteen Going on Seventeen and The Sound of Music as well as old favorites like De Re Mi, My Favorite Things and The Lonely Goatherd.  The Sound of Music has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. As the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family are faced with a lifechanging decision.
