Four women in Victorian London enjoy a newfound sense of freedom and solidarity as they compete to become Lady Boxing Champion of the World.
THE SWEET SCIENCE OF BRUISING centers on the little-known (but very real) world of women’s boxing in Victorian London. Four women discover an unexpected sense of freedom and solidarity as they compete to become Lady Boxing Champion of the World. But different fights await each of them outside the ring, and the stakes for victory—or defeat—soon become too high to ignore.
