Transgender Art Exhibit: Transgender Celebration 2024

Opening reception for the Transgender art exhibit. Hosted in the Lower Urban Room of the Main Library. Exhibit runs March 18–April 5.

The City Library is proud to announce the Transgender Art Exhibit: Transgender Celebration 2024, a vibrant and inclusive collection of art dedicated to celebrating transgender lives, experiences, and creativity. Located in the Lower Urban Room of the Main Library, this exhibit aims to foster understanding, dialogue, and appreciation for the transgender community. The City Library invites everyone to engage with this transformative exhibition.

A reception with the artists will be held on Saturday, March 30, 3–5pm.

Exhibition Highlights:

• “Transcendence”: This captivating collection features thought-provoking paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media works by local transgender artists and/or art about transgender people. From bold self-portraits to abstract expressions of identity, “Transcendence” invites visitors to explore the rich tapestry of transgender experiences.
• “Metamorphosis”: A series of powerful art pieces that chronicle personal journeys of transformation. These visual narratives capture the resilience, courage, and authenticity of transgender individuals as they navigate their unique paths.
• Community Voices: The gallery hosts installations where visitors can share in the stories, reflections, and hopes of transgender people from all walks of life. These contributions amplify the diverse voices within
  the transgender community.
