DMA student, Lawrence Spell, conducts the Phil in works by American composers William Grant Still and George Gershwin. The concert pairs Still’s Prelude and Dances from Troubled Island with Gershwin’s Cuban Overture and selections from Porgy and Bess, exploring the intersection of classical music and jazz and the American sound.
