Willow Harvest

The Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter and Wild Utah Project are building beaver dam analogs, or BDAs, along streams on the Preserve! These human-made dams simulate the ecological benefits of natural beaver dams. That’s where you come in! We need volunteers to help harvest willows, which are used as a building material for BDAs, from the south side of the Preserve. Volunteers will use loppers and pruning shears to cut branches off healthy stands, then drag these branches to a staging area for later transport.
