COVID-19 UPDATE: Please check with individual organizations and venues for specific requirements regarding health precautions.
A Community of Creatives…Tooele County Arts Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in Tooele County, Utah. WE welcome artists 16 and older to join us. We meet every 4th Tuesday of the month at the historic Coulter House Event Center, 175 E, UT-138, Stansbury Park, UT
TCAG serves the Tooele Valley. We were organized beginning in 2009 by Pat Jessie as the “Stansbury Art and Literary Society”. Recognizing that individuals outside of Stansbury Park questioned whether they were welcome to join us, we changed the name to “Tooele County Arts Guild” in 2017. We were doing great things, meeting once a month and having some type of art presentation from wonderful artists like Tom Howard and Rob Adamson. We have been hosting a community art show in the Fall of every year. We hosted a Spring Art Fair with artists booths, music, treats and demos. Then came COVID. We are learning to do online events and learning a lot. We are still thriving. Mainly because we have a group of artists committed to painting en plein aire on a regular basis. We also meet during the winter 3 times per month to do figure studies from live models. We miss our monthly meetings and are looking forward to resuming them when this Pandemic is over. This summer, in spite of the Pandemic we have had 2 Plein Air Competitions hosted by the Tooele City Arts Council that were well attended and a lot of fun.
We continue to have Board meetings monthly via Zoom. Our first physical event is scheduled for December 2. We will require masks and social distancing. We will have hand sanitizer and extra masks available. We hope to resume our monthly meetings in January with these requirements in place.
