Local Colors of Utah Art Gallery is happy to feature one of our newer painters, Olga Hegner.
Olga grew up in Russia and her young life was full of cultural experiences with opera, ballet, drama theaters, art galleries, and museums. She is inspired by the compositions and brush strokes of the great Russian masters: Brulov, Kramskoi, Surikov, Kustodiev, Shishkin, Repin, Serov, and others. She most enjoys painting plein air (outdoors) the various rustic landscapes of Utah and elsewhere. She is passionate about animals loves to paint her golden retriever, Roy.
She writes, “Every painting I paint has a little part of me, it seals the emotions and thoughts I had working on it, my memories of what surrounded me and what was taking place in the world. Art is never sustained; it is always evolving with the universe and us.”
There are Artists Receptions on both August 19th and on September 9th (Sugar House Art Walk).
