Torrey House Press presents Red Rock Stories: Conversations of history, geology, poetry, wonder and record keeping. In celebration of the upcoming title Red Rock Testimony: Three Generations of Writers Speak on Behalf of Utah’s Public Lands.
Red Rock Testimony: In April 2016, Torrey House Press publisher Kirsten Johanna Allen and author Stephen Trimble invited writers to contribute heart-felt words that show the essence of America’s public lands–the wonders and the threats. The response was swift and powerful. In June, Kirsten and Steve hand-delivered copies of this limited edition art-as-advocacy chapbook to Obama Administration officials and members of Congress. Red Rock Testimony: Three Generations of Writers Speak on Behalf of Utah’s Public Lands gathers passionate words from 34 writers who treasure Utah’s public lands. Copies of this limited edition chapbook were later distributed to every member of Congress, donated to tribal leaders and nonprofit organizations, and used to champion the preservation of wilderness. Now this historic collection is available in a trade edition.
Weller Books Works is thrilled to welcome several of these contributors to Weller Book Works for a multi-author panel. Joining them will be Stephen Trimble, Karen Shepherd, Anne Terashima, Brooke Larsen, Jana Richman, and former Utah Poet Laureate David Lee! If you care about Utah and the beautiful public lands it provides, you won’t want to miss this.
