SLAM ROCK BAND CAMP: JUNE 14

Presented by Salt Lake Academy of Music (SLAM) at SLAM: SALT ACADEMY OF MUSIC

SLAM ROCK BAND CAMPS meet in Salt Lake Academy of Music's SLAM Studios, a state-of-the-art learning, rehearsal, and recording facility designed and built for kids.  Camps are limited to 12 kids per 5-day session and run in four 50-minute segments Monday-Friday, 9 am - 1 pm, and climax in a Friday evening concert at 7 pm.

Enrollment includes baked goods, fresh fruit, and beverages provided in the studio lounge during hourly breaks.

SLAM'S ROCK BAND CAMP TEAM:

ZAKKARY HALE | GUITAR, VOCAL
Zakk has served as Rock Music Director for music schools in Salt Lake City and Seattle for the last 12 years. Zakk is the founding member of the Progressive Alternative band MELODRAMUS (3 full-length albums) and has composed and recorded music for television (“Kings of Crash”) and worked with artists such as Matt Winegar, Adrian Gurvitz, Vinnie Colaiuta, Vendetta Red, and Derek Sherinian.    Zakk's current projects are Zakkary Hale’s Fire Garden and MELO.

JORDAN SAUCIER | GUITAR, VOCAL
Jordan Saucier is a guitarist, producer, and educator who earned a degree in Commercial Music and a master’s degree in Music Technology.  Jordan works with area bands, producing bands, teaching private lessons, session work, and more.  Some of Jordan's more notable musical projects include No Limits (national act party band), Jake & The Heist (Utah local original band), his own solo EDM project SAUCI and many, many other groups and artists.

CHRIS SHEMWELL | DRUMS
Chris is a drummer, producer, and visual artist who earned his degree from Berklee School of Music in Electronic Production & Design. Since graduating, Chris gives back to the music community, produce local artists, and to advance the art of rhythm and music technology.

TERENCE HANSEN | ROCK MUSIC DIRECTOR & SLAM CO-FOUNDER
Terence Hansen has served as Music Director at School of Rock, MusicGarage.Org, and SLAM since 2005.   Terence has been performing his compositions, standards, and classics to audiences in the USA and Europe using the tapping technique on two guitars simultaneously (while singing). Terence has shared the stage with Robert Palmer, Keith Urban, Jennifer Batten, Gary Hoey, Neil Zaza, Bumblefoot, as well as headlining festivals in Germany, Holland, and England.

STEVE AUERBACH | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Steve Auerbach played a seminal role in the national rollout of School of Rock and created the award-winning MusicGarage.Org from 2009-2019 before co-founding SLAM in 2019.  Steve believes that giving young musicians a safe, fun, and productive place to belong to a like-minded youth community encourages the growth of music and life skills for a lifetime.  Steve worked with world-renowned recording artists and producers in Los Angeles in his 20s prior to a career in social work, juvenile justice, and music education.
