Salt Lake Ballet Cooperative with DEXO presents “Confluence to Salt Dust” June 9th and June 10th a traveling show at 7pm starting at Modesto Park and culminating in Three Creeks Confluence Park in Salt Lake City.
Explore the journey of the waterways of the Salt Lake Valley and the natures of both static and flux.
Choreographed by Carly Schaub with original music by Wachira Stone, Indigo Rain Cook, and Kelariz Keshavarz, the audience will experience an interpretation and celebration of the unique water environment we live in danced by ten dancers of Salt Lake Ballet Cooperative.
“I’ve been interested in the personification of rivers and other bodies of water,” Schaub (choreographer) said. “The basin we reside and work in is unique in that all the water that passes us in the forms of creeks, rivers and streams, all ends up evaporating in the Great Salt Lake. I also am very supportive of the efforts to uncover and reconstruct the creeks in this area such as has been done on a portion of the confluence of Parley’s, Red Butte, and Emigration Creeks. When a person can see, hear, smell and feel a river they tend to build a connection and relationship to it
