Set sail with this classic comedy that boasts one of the most famous patter songs in musical theatre history. Gilbert and Sullivan's hilarious, hopeful farce follows young Frederic (Jacom Clarkson) an orphan who has mistakenly been apprenticed to an ineffectual but raucous band of pirates. He disavows the pirates' way of life and falls for the beautiful Mabel. Frederic’s melodious tones win over the heart of Major General Stanley’s songbird daughter, Mabel (Sarai Dodge), but when the Pirate King (Eric Peterson) discovers General Stanley (Gordon Jones) has lied about being an orphan to keep the pirates from stealing all of his belongings and carrying off his bevy of beautiful daughters, an “ingenious paradox” may prevent the budding romance and lead to the death of “The very model of a modern Major-General.”
Jordan Long directs the cast of 45 with Eric Peterson as the music director. Other members of the cast include the general’s daughters – Kate Garner, Carol Nelson, Anna Peck, Haven Beckstrand, Brylea Winberg and Cassandra Kerr, Alaina Stone as the Nursemaid, Peter Johnson as the pirate 2nd in command and Ben Shaw as the Police Sergeant, a boat load of pirates and a gaggle of Key Stone Cops. The show runs just over 90 minutes and is great for families. You don’t want to miss it!
