This hilarious comedy has won multiple awards (including an Obie for Best New American Play and a Best Off-Braodway Production) has become a classic in American theatre. It takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, where two Englishman go to escape the troubles of everyday life. Froggy, in an attempt to protect his good (but painfully shy) friend Charlie, tells the lodge owner and guests that he cannot talk because he is a foreigner from an exotic land and can’t speak English. In what is believed to be the safe presence of a non-English speaker, all of the secrets of the lodge guests are riotously revealed. As in all good comedies, there are a few tricks leading to some comical but tender lessons learned.
