Dean Fausett was the younger, better known brother of Lynn Fausett, although both were successful in their respective art careers. Born in Price, Utah, he studied at Brigham Young University before classes at the Art Students League, where he developed a much freer and more open stylistic approach than his brother’s more controlled muralist’s technique. He was a portraitist, illustrator and muralist, whose career was largely in New York and the Northeast. Dean Fausett is represented in the collections of numerous private and public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Chicago Art Institute.
