Apostle of Peace

This statue, created by local sculpture Dennis Smith, is located at the YWCA’s Family Justice Center depicts Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian activist who was the leader of the Indian independence movement against British colonial control. Employing nonviolent civil disobedience, Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
