First Love

James Richard Avati was born in Redbank, New Jersey. He received BFA and MFA degrees from the University of Utah. Avati is an excellent and sensitive sculptor who also studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, the Art Students League, Ricks College in Idaho and at Brigham Young University.
