Home Flag

Home Flag is designed to engage visitors and residents on several levels. Firstly the viewer encounters the familiar image of the American flag. On further inspection, the viewer can read a line from a patriotic and sentimental poem written by George Frederick Root during the Civil War: “…beneath the starry flag we shall breathe the air again, of the freeland in our own beloved home”
