Portrait of R. McGuire

Ogden native Dan Baxter was one of the leading figurative painters of the seventies and early eighties in Utah. He taught at the University of Utah before being encouraged by his former teacher, Alvin Gittins, to move to New York to advance his painting career. Until his early death, he was a successful painter in New York and San Francisco.
