COVID-19 UPDATE: Please check with individual organizations and venues for specific requirements regarding health precautions.
May 22, 2020 – Dear Alf Engen Ski Museum Supporters,
With Summit County’s recent decision to move into the Yellow phase of the Governor’s Utah Leads Together COVID-19 plan/guidelines, the Alf Engen Ski Museum staff and Board members are pleased to announce our reopening on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
Some of our museum offerings have been modified for the initial reopen phase to ensure the health and safety of staff and guests. We are committed to making sure everyone has a safe, educational and entertaining visit.
Guests will be met at the front door of the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center and at the entrance to the museum, with staff monitoring guest numbers, health and information regarding their visit. All guests are asked to bring a face mask and wear it while inside the museum. Staff will wear personal protective equipment as outlined by the CDC, Utah State and Summit County guidelines. Staff will also clean exhibits after each use and high contact areas throughout the building will be cleaned twice a day.
Directional decals on the floor, as well as eye-level signage and sandwich boards throughout the Utah Olympic Park and museums will remind and encourage guests to maintain a one-way flow, keep a safe distance from other guests, wear masks and clean hands often. For now, the theater in which 2002 Olympic vignettes are shown will be configured for standing viewing only (no chairs).
The museum staff and Board members are very appreciative of the donations, emails and l
