DesignArts Utah '09 is the seventh juried exhibition of the DesignArts program. Started in 2003, the Utah Division of Arts and Museums' DesignArts Utah exhibition was created to highlight the variety of talented designers and diverse forms of design practiced throughout the state. An additional ongoing goal of the program is to help the citizens of Utah see, experience, use and value the art of design that is a part of every day life. Design submissions that draw from a wide range of design fields are accepted between February and April of each year. Entries received by the deadline are then reviewed by a nationally prominent design professional. An exhibition, which takes place in the late summer of that year, is then curated by the juror from what he or she feels are the top submitted designs. Finally, the juror can exercise the option of awarding a Juror's Award to one or two submission included in the exhibition to highlight work that merit special recognition.
