In Utah's heritage, scenic and recreational state parks, visitors camp, boat, swim, fish, picnic, ride horseback, visit interpretive areas, enjoy nature trails, play golf, hike, bike, ride off-highway vehicles or just relax with family and friends. Even in winter, cross-country skiers, snowmobilers, ice fishers and hardy campers are taking advantage of Utah state parks. Recreation opportunities found in the state parks are as diverse as the parks themselves.

    05/26/12	Deserts are Not Deserted Hike Antelope Island State Park Deserts are Not Deserted Hike Presented by Utah State Parks at Antelope Island State Park May 26, 2012 The word desert comes from the word deserted. The truth, however, is that this land abounds with plants and animals specifically adapted to this harsher environment. Meet the Park Naturalist in the visitor center parking lot for an easy one-hour hike to explore and discuss the many wonders of this desert island.

    05/26/12- 05/28/12	Civil War Encampment Camp Floyd State Park and Stagecoach Inn Museum Civil War Encampment Presented by Utah State Parks at Camp Floyd State Park and Stagecoach Inn Museum May 26-May 28, 2012 Camp Floyd State Park in conjunction with the Utah Civil War Association are hosting a Civil War Encampment on Memorial Day Weekend. The event will allow visitors to experience camp life and participate in several activities performed by soldiers of Johnston's Army.

Though this informative Junior Ranger program is geared for ages 6-12 people of all ages are welcome.
    06/05/12	Transit of Venus: Solar Viewing Antelope Island State Park Transit of Venus: Solar Viewing Presented by Utah State Parks at Antelope Island State Park June 5, 2012 Join park staff and members of the Ogden Astronomical Society for a rare event. A transit occurs when Venus passes directly between the sun and the earth. The most recent transit of Venus was in 2004. The June 5, 2012 transit of Venus will be the last time this event takes place until 2117.
