Due to COVID-19, the 4th Annual Silent Film Festival public event has been canceled. We look forward to the festival again in 2021!

SILENT FILMS WITH LIVE MUSIC
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2020

When silent films debuted nearly 100 years ago theaters would hire musicians to play alongside them. Bountiful Davis Art Center will recreate this experience all day Saturday, September 19, 2020  from 12:00 pm – 5 pm. Live pianists on two Steinway grand pianos will accompany a new movie every 45 minutes throughout the day.  Hundreds of young pianists will perform the score music.  Watch seven different movies featuring Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.​

Creator Heather K. Smith says this festival is perfect for families. “The films are all age-appropriate, funny, and relatively short. Not only will this festival offer a performance opportunity for students but will also be a way to historically preserve silent films.”

Traditional cinema food and drink will be sold.

Purchase tickets at the door or online: $5 per individual show or $10 for day pass, single film family passes available for $20.  All proceeds will help offset BDAC’s operational expenses to make it possible for music teachers to continue to rent the BDAC space at an affordable rate.
