African Americans have played key roles in building, servicing and sustaining the railroad industry in the United States. As we celebrate Spike 150, we invite you to join us for a reception, discussion, and tour of the Porters and Waiters Exhibit.
As we commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the laying of the last Golden Spike, connecting the Transcontinental Railroad, we invite you to join in an evening of sharing and celebration of the African American Railroad Experience at Ogden’s Historic Union Station. Enslaved and later freed Blacks from southern and eastern states worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in some of the hardest jobs.
