Meat & Potato Theatre’s con·temp·POE·rar·y is a thrilling evening of Edgar Allan Poe stories and poems including The Raven, The Purloined Letter, and The Pit and the Pendulum.

Each of Poe’s immortal tales has been modernized to bring their chilling, unnatural qualities into even sharper focus: the sailor in MS Found in a Bottle is from a high-tech research vessel, the spiteful philanthropist in Cask of Amontillado is the host of a costume party at the Cannes film festival, and Annabel Lee has been reimagined as a 1940’s torchsong.

M&P’s signature theatricality will be utilized throughout the production. Puppets, masks, song and dance, and live sound effects will uniquely define each piece.
