Ballet West brings 18 of their best dancers to Victoria in a full program that emphasizes the remarkable range of this company. Mercurial Landscapes is a beautifully choreographed meditation for eight couples set to Vivaldi's Four Seasons. William Forsythe's is considered to be one of this dance innovator's masterpieces. Finally, Val Caniparoli's The Lottery, based on Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery,' is a chilling tale of conformity gone mad. The costumes and sets for this work effectively evoke small-town America in the late 1940s. Ballet West has been featured for two seasons in the hit reality television program Breaking Pointe.
