Navajo Rug Sale at the Natural History Museum of Utah

The Natural History Museum of Utah will host a sale of Navajo rugs (all sizes and design styles), handwoven by artists in the Four Corners region, at a silent auction hosted with the Toh-Atin Gallery of Durango, Colorado.

NHMU will host a sale of Navajo rugs of all sizes and design styles, handwoven by artists in the Four Corners region, at a silent auction hosted with the Toh-Atin Gallery of Durango, Colorado.

While the format is that of a silent auction, every rug also has a “buy it now” price that allows the first bidder to buy the rug immediately by paying 20% over the minimum bid. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the museum.

  • 10 a.m.–5 p.m. — The silent auction will take place at the Museum

The Navajo Rug Sale is open to the public and does not require Museum admission.

To see the rest of the Museum, admission will be required.

Choreographer; Dancer; Musician; UDAM Teaching Artist | Katie regularly performs throughout Utah with her cuadro which includes: Jake Abbott (guitar and cante), Sandy Meek (guitar), and Julie Sheen (cajon and palmas). While growing up in Utah she studied jazz, ballet, tap and hip-hop. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland for graduate school she fell in love with Flamenco after taking her first Sevillanas class. She studied with Solange Gomes for several years in Salt Lake City and most recently she lived in Sevilla, Spain where she studied with many flamenco maestros, including Luisa Palacio, Angel Atienza, Isabel Bayon and Javier Baron.
