Solfege and Sonority: Teaching Music Reading in the Choral Classroom with David J. Xiques

David J. Xiques, professor of music in the School of Music at San Francisco State University, teaches ear training and musicianship classes and coordinates the choral program. A Kodály specialist, he is a former faculty member at the Kodály Summer Certification Program at New York University. He is also a professional tenor with the SFS Chorus and serves as assistant director. Mr. Xiques is a frequent choral clinician and presenter at music conferences. His book, Solfege and Sonority:

DAVID HABBEN

Graphic Designer; UDAM Teaching Artist | David received his BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 2006. In 2008, he became one of the first illustrators to become a Children’s Book Design Fellow at Chronicle Books in San Francisco. For the next eight years, David continued to work as an illustrator and designer, both in-house and freelance. Then, In 2017, he earned his MFA in Studio Art, with a Graphic Design emphasis, from The University of Utah.
