Developed at the Trauma Center in Brookline, MA, TCTSY has foundations in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, Neuroscience, and Hatha Yoga with an emphasis on body-based yoga forms and breathing practices.
This training is designed for certified yoga teachers and mental health professionals who are looking to expand their practice to include treatment of the body as well as the mind. Mental health professionals who wish to attend do not need any prior yoga experience.
Workshop Schedule & Fees
$349 Per Person, Space is limited to 45 participants
FRI, February 19th: 6:00PM-9:00PM
SAT, February 20th: 10:00AM-5:00PM (one hour meal break)
SUN, February 21st: 10:00AM-5:00PM (one hour meal break)
Workshop consists of 20 total training hours: 15 hours direct instruction & 5 hours independent study.
*Yoga Instructors: workshop qualifies for 15 contact and up to 5 non-contact Yoga Alliance continuing education hours.
*Social Workers: (UTAH) workshop has been approved for 15 continuing education hours by the NASW-Utah chapter. ($30 fee applies)
Workshop Facilitator: Morgan Vanderpool, MSW, E-RYT
Morgan found trauma-sensitive yoga through her work in international foster care and her social work practice with veterans. She is a certified Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga facilitator, and offers TCTSY as both a service until itself, and has integrated it into her therapy practice as a trauma-informed mental health specialist in Tacoma, WA. Morgan began teaching TCTSY in 2012, and has successfully implemented year-round TCTSY programming at a local non-profit healing arts center.
