THE BLOCKS will deploy 25 artists into the city to paint our beautiful, historic urban landscape. On 9/13, 14 & 15 visit the artists in their 10 locations throughout downtown to see how they’re capturing SLC! The show will then open on 9/21 at UMOCA!
The Blocks, in partnership with the City and the County, are activating downtown streets and underutilized urban spaces during a three-day period—September 13, 14 & 15—with the spontaneous and participatory nature of Plein Air (outdoor) painting. This project invites audiences to engage with participating artists and get a view into their process of completing a painting, providing the opportunity to see live art. We will work with a curated team of 25 artists to demonstrate their painting

This is a FREE event.
During the two artist work days, 9/13 & 9/14, simply visit the artists in the 10 locations and see what they’re up to. The reception at UMOCA will also be free admission.

The 13th, 14th and 15th will be artist work days where we encourage that you visit the 10 locations and observe the creative process!
An artist reception will be help the following weekend at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art from 6-8:00 PM.
