The town of Bicknell was settled in 1879. Originally called Thurber, its history is tied to that of the towns of Grayson, White Mesa, and Blanding. Bicknell is home to Wayne School District, Wayne Community Health Center, and Wayne Community Center. It has a sawmill, a sign factory, and more.
