St. George Winter Bird Festival

Southwestern Utah habitats can attract over 375 species of birds during the year. The habitats range from desert to pine with riparian areas. During the St. George winter months many waterfowl migrate through and stop at our lakes and reservoirs. Raptors especially find this region an ideal location for the cold months. Whether you are a beginner or longtime birder, you will find many attendees that are eager to share their experiences and enthusiasm for birding.

  1. I live in Sun River and am concerned with the regulation here that does not permit bird feeders to our yards. The reasoning is that if we don’t have bird feeders than all the pigeon will go away but all the many other varieties of birds will remain. It’s ok to have water features for the birds to drink but not feeders for birds to eat bird seeds.
    Have you seen this situation in other areas
